Folk Festival gears up for ‘best ever’ event. May 22-25th.

With only days to go, folk fans are counting down to once again meeting up with friends old and new for a weekend of fabulous music in the friendliest of folk festivals, Festival On The Moor.

More than 30 acts line up for more than 100 performances over the four days. Among them are Folk Icon MARTIN CARTHY, the brilliant Coope, Boyes and Simpson, Folk Icons COOPE , BOYES & SIMPSON and RICHARD GRAINGER who appears this year with accordion ‘guru’, CHRIS PARKINSON.

Music from Traditional and Contemporary Folk to Delta Blues alongside Historic Re-enactors,Childrens Entertainment, Traditional Dance ,Ceilidh , Festival Food, Real Ale Bar, Workshops, Meet The Artists spots, Concerts and Arts & Crafts on display and for sale, CD Sales, Festival T-Shirts.....and at the heart of it all , a very friendly atmosphere....

For those wanting to take part there are plenty of opportunities to play and sing at daily sessions, and for composers you can even enter our famous KFA Song Competition. The theme this year is World War 1 in conjunction with the Festivals Heritage Lottery Funded WW1 project ‘Ghosts Of Heroes’.

Just to remind you that we also have perhaps the best festival venues in the county being in beautiful Botton nr Danby , the heart of the North York Moors.

Joan Of Arc Hall - a beautifully designed concert hall offering afternoon and evening concerts and a real ale bar. The Joan Of Arc Library at the rear of the building acts as a club,singaround and workshop venue. Botton School - our base for the festival, where you can buy or collect pre-booked tickets, programmes and merchandise, sample the snacks on offer in our Cafe, enjoy concerts and take part in workshops and singarounds.

Botton Village Coffee Bar, the home of our early evening Festival Folk Club, will be open for breakfasts and evening meals.

So be it sunshine or rain, Botton is the perfect venue for you between the 22nd and 25th May

returns to the beautiful village of Botton in Danby Dale

Botton Village nestles in Danby Dale in the Esk Valley. It’s one of the most magical and stunning places in the North York Moors National Park and is an oasis of calm and beauty. Home to the oldest Camphill Community, it’s also a vibrant working village with several farms and other workshops including artisan bakery and cheesemaker, candlemaking, a weavery and a dollshop. There’s also a store selling homemade and organic products, a coffee bar and a giftshop.

Please don't bring Rover to the Festival as he won't be very happy sitting outside on his own!
